Explore the Best National Parks in USA — Your Trail to the Top 10
Hi, I’m Duncan — a veteran, Christian school educator, and long-time lover of maps, beaches, outdoors, mountains, and meaningful adventures. TheParkTrail.com is the result of years of passion, planning, and a genuine desire to create something useful. After serving in the Army and Air Force, I shifted into education, helping young people grow in knowledge and character. This site combines both worlds: structured, helpful resources and a deep respect for the natural world. Whether you’re planning your first park trip or aiming to visit them all, I’m glad you’re here. TheParkTrail.com isn’t just a website — it’s a project built with purpose.
Your companion for the Top 10 U.S. National Parks
I didn’t create The ParkTrail.com just to build a website — I built it because I believe national parks are more than just travel destinations. They’re reminders of how small we are, how beautiful the world can be, and how important it is to protect what matters. After years of teaching, and after time spent in the Army and Air Force, I’ve come to value clarity, purpose, and creating resources that actually help people. This site is my way of combining those values — education, exploration, and accessibility — into one meaningful project. It’s built with intention, and it's here to serve.
TheParkTrail.com is designed to be both practical and inspiring — a one-stop guide to the Top 10 U.S. National Parks. You’ll find detailed information on every park, organized by region, along with printable resources to help you plan, explore, and learn. Whether you’re a solo hiker, a parent planning a road trip, or a teacher looking for classroom materials, there’s something here for you. I’ve included checklists, journals, kid-friendly printables, maps, and curated tips to make your journey smoother and more meaningful. The goal is simple: help you get the most out of every park, every visit, and every moment outdoors.
When I’m not building this site or planning my next hike, I’m teaching full-time at a Christian school in Queensland — a job that brings real purpose and joy. Before that, I served in both the Army and the Air Force, and now life has taken on a quieter, richer rhythm. I spend a lot of time outdoors with my wife and our dog, especially on the wild and amazing beaches Australia is blessed with. Between us, we have five grown-up kids, and we love holidaying together in nature — whether it’s remote coastlines, bush trails, or tucked-away campgrounds. This site is an extension of that life: grounded, adventurous, and deeply connected to the natural world.
If you’ve made it this far — thank you. TheParkTrail.com is a project close to my heart, and I’m grateful you’ve taken the time to learn a bit about the person behind it. I built this site to be helpful, honest, and inspiring, and I hope it becomes a trusted companion on your journey through the national parks. Whether you’re planning your first visit or your 50th, I’m cheering you on from across the ocean. Keep exploring, stay curious, and never stop making time for the wild.
